Unraveling the Roots: How Seed Thoughts Shape Our Lives
Welcome, Village! Today's podcast opens with a Vulnerability Moment, Mom to Mom. Picture me, a young ballet dancer, pouring my heart into performances yet feeling a void when my family consistently missed them. This led to a seed thought that echoed for years: "I'm not good enough."
Let's explore how these seed thoughts grow into towering trees with numerous branches and leaves.
Exploration:
The initial seed of "I'm not good enough" took root in my mind, watered by unexpressed feelings and growing roots of disappointment. Like roots underground, the seed's impact on me wasn't immediately visible. The lack of expression allowed the seed to take hold, unseen. Tears became the nourishment for this seed, fostering the growth of depression, low self-esteem, anger, bitterness, and hate-the leaves of my internal tree.
Dropping out of dance the next day was a pivotal moment. In desperation, I vowed to shield myself from future disappointments, unknowingly creating unconscious agreements that shaped my path. These protective vows extend beyond the initial circumstance, impacting relationships, work, and more, creating branches and leaves that shape our lives.
Unchecked thoughts control us without our awareness. To prevent planting harmful seeds, we must check and challenge our thoughts regularly. Like dance haunted me, many of our thoughts control us without our awareness. Realizing I created the monster of disappointment, I empowered myself to dismantle it. Awareness is the key to breaking free from the cycle.
Empowerment:
We all harbor seed thoughts that have silently grown into influential trees. Now that we understand their power, let's reverse the process. Plant a positive seed by declaring, "I am" followed by something great you hesitate to believe about yourself. Share it, watch it grow, and break free from the constraints of limiting thoughts.
Tools for Moving Forward:
Journaling: List down your seed thoughts.
Reflection: Identify the origin of these thoughts.
Disagreement: Challenge and disagree with the limiting thoughts.
Education: Explore resources like "Soul Contract" by Danelle for deeper insights into breaking free from limiting beliefs.
